Engenerate – IPENZ Young Professionals' Group

Engenerate is aimed at engineers with less than eight years' work experience. Events are held around the country and range from technical presentations and site visits to social activities. There are a number of ways employers can get involved with Engenerate in their region.

Engenerate events

Engenerate events are generally organised by regional committee members and include:

• Technical presentations
• Site visits
• Competence-assessment application seminars and workshops to assist you with obtaining professional recognition
• Toastmasters public speaking groups
• Social events – sports competitions, BBQs and quiz nights
• Weekend trips such aswhite water rafting and skiing.

Becoming a member of Engenerate

Graduate and Professional Members of IPENZ aged under 30 are automatically members of Engenerate – there is no need to join the group.

Join IPENZ – become a Graduate Member of IPENZ and receive the benefits of belonging to Engenerate.

Involvement with Engenerate whatever your age

Older Members, particularly those who are still working towards competence-based Membership and registration, are also welcome to attend Engenerate events. Keep an eye on the Engineering Calendar for events in your region.

Employers can contribute to Engenerate

Employers can help Engenerate in a number of ways:

• Regional Engenerate committees are always looking for venues to hold sessions – your meeting room might fit the bill for an after work function
• Engenerate regularly holds site visits – if you are working on an interesting project contact your local Engenerate representative
• Advertise Engenerate activities to your graduate staff and encourage them to get involved
• Support staff who are on the Engenerate committee in your region
• Sponsor events with cash or prizes.
