Ingenium (Formerly ALGENZ)

Ingenium exists primarily to uphold and improve the quality of local government engineering in New Zealand. Close ties are maintained with Local Government New Zealand through the Ingenium executive which includes a representative from each of five branches. In this way members are kept informed on the developments relevant to their profession. Branch activities centre on training and education and exchanges of information and ideas. Ingenium also arranges conferences and seminars and publishes a quarterly journal Local Government Engineering in New Zealand. Ingenium undertakes special projects for the benefits of local government engineering such as producing the National Asset Management Manual. Membership is open to engineers who are currently serving district, city or regional authorities, technical personnel employed in local government, and contractors/consultants/suppliers asssociated with local government engineering in New Zealand.
