How we support our employees :
We provide a range of in-house professional development opportunities for staff at all levels. As a Professional Development Partner with IPENZ, MWH is committed to continuing to develop these opportunities in line with industry best practice. This
strengthens our own business and supports the engineering industry as a whole.

Training and development opportunities we offer our employees :
MWH’s current professional development programme includes a structured graduate and cadet programme, mentoring and leadership training and
application advisors to help staff working towards professional
registration. Competence assessment application fees,
membership subscriptions and conference and training fees
are also provided.

Continued Professional Development is included as part of employees remuneration packages

How we support the community :
Staff are involved in many organisations on a personal level, and MWH has a national sponsorship to support its purpose of Building a Better World. In recent years this has seen us sponsor pest management programmes, wetlands conservation, the establishment of the MWH national native seedbank, and the conservation and preservation of frogs, lizards and native plants. We also donate to various organisations and charities.

Summer work placement opportunities:
Through summer employment you can sample the experience of working at MWH with exposure to our people, projects and clients. Below is a snapshot of what previous summer students have said about their time at MWH.

The summer work placement runs from November through to February each year and is aimed at students in their second year of study through to their final year.

Scholarships and awards we offer:
Sponsorship of the University of Auckland Revue for Engineering Faculty Students Sponsorship of the University of Canterbury 1st Pro Camp MWH Geotechnical Prize: awarded annually to a student who achieves excellence of performance in the geotechnical engineering subjects of the 2nd Professional year of the BE Civil degree at UC, and who through his or her grasp of the fundamental concepts demonstrates the potential to become an outstanding geotechnical engineer. MWH Jim McFarlane Memorial Prize: awarded annually to a student who demonstrates excellence of performance in the 1st Professional year of the BE Civil degree at UC, and who demonstrates the potential to become an environmentally responsible engineer.
