Major projects we are involved with/have been involved with :
URS led the design of the civil, structural and planning for the Northern Gateway Toll Road as part of an alliance. The toll road is north of Auckland, from Orewa to Puhoi. Engineering challenges faced included difficult geological formations,steep terrain and the site's location within an area of significant environmental value. It incorporates a number of major structures including twin tunnels at Johnson's Hill and six bridges.
URS were the lead design consultant for the detailed design on the $200 million SH20 Mt Roskilll Extensions project. The URS SH 20 Project Team delivered a comprehensive design for 4.5 km of new motorway extending the existing motorway from Hillsborough to Richardson Rd.
Our responsibility on the Stockton Ridgeline Deconstruction for Solid Energy was to perform geotechnical investigations and analysis and deconstruction design. Slope stability analysis and the development and testing of rock bolting and anchor systems were also required by the client.
