| 25 November 2008 New Zealand engineering excellence awards winners announced The 2008 New Zealand Engineering Excellence (NZEE) Awards category finalists were announced at TE PAPA in Wellington last night. The fourth New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards are the premier awards for New Zealand engineering professionals. The awards are presented in two major areas: Individual Awards, that recognise leadership, entrepreneurship, and our young engineers; and Category Awards, that recognise achievement in the various industry areas, together with a Supreme Award for the best of the Category winners.
The Category Award winners are: Building and Construction Utilities, Networks and Amenities Roads and Transport Information & Communication Technology Food, Bioprocess and Chemical Mechanical & Manufacturing Electrical & Systems Sustainability & Clean Technology The Individual Award winners are: William Pickering Award for Engineering Leadership New Zealand Engineering Entrepreneur of the Year New Zealand Engineering Innovator of the Year New Zealand Young Engineer of the Year Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand Chief Executive Dr Andrew Cleland FIPENZ said all New Zealand Engineering Excellence finalists contributed to the reputation of New Zealand engineering, pioneering world firsts and using best international practice. “The projects and achievements of professional engineers prove New Zealand’s international reputation for innovation and creativity in engineering and technology”, said Dr Cleland.
