IPENZ Engineers New Zealand is publishing peer reviewed technical papers in an online series called engineering treNz (Transactions of Engineers New Zealand). Like many other academic and professional institutions, we view publishing as an important aspect of our role as a learned society. Publishing good quality, peer reviewed technical papers creates a valuable resource for the engineering community and raises the standing of IPENZ and our Members.

Papers published in engineering treNz and many from its predecessor Transactions are freely available via our website, and easily searchable with papers widely indexed by web search engines. engineering treNz is also registered with an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) enabling libraries, subscription agents, researchers, and information scientists to find and catalogue papers. By publishing your paper in engineering treNz you make it accessible for potential readers world wide.

engineering treNz accepts two types of papers for publication “Notes” and “Projects”:

  • Notes are similar to conventional academic papers and record advances in engineering knowledge.
  • Projects record significant advances in engineering practice such as lessons learnt in the course of major projects or developments.

Papers submitted for either Notes or Projects should be of relevance to the New Zealand engineering profession. The Quick Guide to engineering treNz publication briefly outlines publication criteria and processes. It may help you decide whether you have material suitable for publication in an engineering treNz paper

The format for engineering treNz is typical of professional publications - use our engineering treNz Template as a guide for your submission.

For further information, clarification, or to discuss or submit your paper, please contact the Editor of engineering treNz Lindsay Robertson at lindsay@tech-vantage.com or by phoning 021 240 6863.

The engineering treNz online series of technical papers was first published in 2000. Prior to 2000, IPENZ technical papers were published in hardcopy in a series called Transactions (1974 - 2000). Use the keyword search to search for papers from both the engineering treNz and Transactions series - Search
