BUSH, Walter Ernest, (1875 - 1950)
Mr Bush was born 8th September 1875, his education and his training and early engineering work were in Great Britain, whence he emigrated to New Zealand to take up a position as Auckland City Engineer in 1906, a position he held until 1929, when he went to Brisbane as Chief Water Supply and Sewerage Engineer. Later he served with the Roads Commission in Queensland and, for a short period before his retirement, with the Commonwealth Works and Services Dept. He remained, while in Australia, very interested in the Institution. He was elected President in 1919 soon after becoming a member. His death took place on 29th January 1950.
